Pop-up sustainable fashion store We Are confirms closure

Sustainable fashion brand We Are has confirmed its pop-up Highcross store has popped down again. The brand launched a shop in the former Topshop store, on the upper floor of the shopping centre.

It opened at the start of October, and was originally intended to be there until the end of November. However, a spokesperson for the brand has confirmed to LeicestershireLive that, although We Are “had a great reception in Leicester” the store is now closed.

For fans of pre-loved vintage clothing, there is some good news, though. According to the spokesperson, We Are is now on the look-out for a permanent unit in the city.

We Are focuses on ‘second life fashion’, which aims to halt the fast fashion industry and throw-away culture, in favour of what it describes as a circular and sustainable way to find great clothes at affordable prices.

It started in September 2021 and since then has opened pop-up stores and held events around the UK, from Edinburgh to Cornwall. The fashion brand launched in Germany in April this year and an online shop will be launching later this year and providing a delivery service throughout the UK.

It sells items by the likes of Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Calvin Klein, Diesel, Hugo Boss, and Reebok. Sizes range from petite to plus size.
